It's been a few days now since I last checked in. It's been tough but exciting finding our feet in Sydney. Landing at the weekend wasn't ideal...we couldn't get phones without having a bank account, couldn't apply for jobs without phones and apparently to get the good phone deal with the 300 international minutes included, you need a job....difficult or what lol.
We have managed over the past 2 days to get a bank account, a phone contract and our medicare cards. Now we just have to get our TFN (Tax File Numbers) and we'll be sorted! It'll be a relief.
On out 3rd day here, we managed to work out the ticket system for the trains, buses and ferries! So now we are free to adventure as we please!
We got the Official Sydney Tour bus, and got off at the Powerhouse Museum, which was very interesting indeed. But after that stop we couldn't find the bus again and walked for 2 hours! So I wouldn't really recommend that tour lol.

Today after we did our first washing, got our medicards and went to vodafone (as they had give me a nano sim instead of a micro sim) we decided to venture out to Bondi Beach. Aunty Beth had told me about this great food cart that sold pies (not just any pies, but world famous pies!!)....so that was really our end goal lol! It's no longer a cart, but had franchises all over the city! It's called Harry's Cafe de Wheels and the pies lived up to their name! Brilliant!
After we had sufficiently stuffed our faces the sun was starting to go down (it's going down at about 5-5:30...which is crazy when I think it was still daylight at midnight at home!!) we headed back to Sydney Harbour as I had heard about 'Vivid Sydney' which is a light show on the Opera house roof....we stood around and watched the sunset, but alas no light show...but the sunset was spectacular <3
